Many thanks to Paul Stahl Jr, for sending us this modification manual for the C-109 fuel transport, an modified verison of the B-24 bomber. His father, Paul Stahl Sr, was the project engineer for the C-109.

adapters, are removed from the plane, with an expection of those at the following positions:

Pilot's Position.
Located on side of plane to left of pilot's seat.

Co-Pilot's Position.
Located on side of plane to right of co-pilot's seat

Radio Operator's Position.
Located on right side of plane adjacent to radio operator's table.

Bunk Position
Located on left side of plane in radio operator's compartment

Right Waist Window
Located on right side of plane below right waist window

6. INSTALLATION OF STATIC DISCHARGES -- MODIFICATION TB-34

Static Dischargers MK-43A/ ASA-1 and mountings are installed at the following locations on the outside skin of the airplane

One on the top, forward, outboard part of each wing.

One on the bottom section of each wing.

One on the aft, top of each fin.

A total of six static dischargers is required.

7. INSTALLATION OF GLIDE PATH RECEIVER - AN/ARN-5 - MODIFICATION TB-35

Receiver R-57/ARN-5 or R-89/ARN-5 is installed in the nose of the airplane on the left-hand side between Station 0.3 and 1.0

The antenna AS-61/ARN-5 is installed on the top of the airplane just forward of Station 0.3 and aft of the astro hatch.

The indicator is the indicator for the RC-103 radio. See item TB-4

8. INSTALLATION OF AM-26/AIC INTERPHONE AMPLIFIER - MODIFICATION TB-36

Amplifier AM-26/AIC is installed over the radio operator's table on the bulkhead between the pilot's compartment and the radio operator's compartment, replacing the old type interphone amplifier and dynamotor.
