Looking aft from bridge of USS Kimberly (DD-80), 1918
This picture shows the view looking back from the bridge of the Wickes class destroyer USS Kimberly (DD-80), at some point during 1918. The man on deck was her commanding officer, Commander Alfred W. Johnson. This picture also gives us a good view of the side gun platform, making it clear that it was indeed just a platform, and not the roof of a deck structure.
