General Quarter's Drill, USS Louisville (CA-28)
Here we see General Quarter's Drill being carried out on the bridge of the Northampton class heavy cruiser USS Louisville (CA-28), in April 1945 when she was at the Mare Island Navy Yard. The bridge windows are still covered in their protective paper. The bridge looks rather crowded, a sign of how much more complex warships had become between her design in the 1920s and the last year of the Second World War
