Here we see a Vought UO-1 floatplane being lowered from the Omaha class light cruiser USS Memphis (CL-13) . This was clearly an unusual enough procedure to have attracted the attention of several of the crew.
US Navy Light Cruisers 1941-45, Mark Stille. Nicely organised, with the wartime service records separated out from the main text, so that the design history of the light cruisers flows nicely.
