USS Zane (DD-337), 1934, Panama Canal Zone
This picture shows the Clemsen class destroyer USS Zane (DD-337) in the Panama Canal Zone during 1934. A second Clemsen class destroyer is moored behind her, and behind them both is USS Melville (AD-2), a destroyer depot ship. On this picture the rear 4in gun is clear, as are two of the four triple torpedo tubes, here sheltered under awnings between the funnels and the stern of the ship.
