Handley Page Hampden of No.61 Squadron

Handley Page Hampden of No.61 Squadron

Here we see a Handley Hampdon Mk.I (probably P4378) of No.61 Squadron (code QR) being bombed up ready to take part in a raid. From this angle we get a good view of the bulbous front part of the narrow fuselage and the very thin rear part leading to the tail.

Many thanks to Roger Griffith, the nephew of Sgt. A.J. Griffiths of No.144 Squadron, for sending us these pictures.
