Hurs of the Sindh Desert

Hurs of the Sindh Desert

Here we see a group of Hurs from the Sindh desert, a group that fought against British rule from the nineteenth century onwards, and were under marshal law in 1942-43, just before this picture was taken.

Many thanks to Ken Creed for sending us these pictures, which were taken by his wife's uncle Terry Ruff during his time with No.357 Squadron, a special operations unit that operated over Burma, Malaya and Sumatra.
