Navy TS-1 of VF-1, USS Langley (CV-1), 1923
Here we see a pair of Navy TS-1 scout aircraft on USS Langley (CV-1) in 1923. The TS-1 was the first US Navy fighter designed for use from a carrier, and the Langley was the first proper US aircraft carrier. The final version of the TS-1 was the all metal Curtiss F4C, the start of a long family of Curtiss naval fighters.
