Royal Aircraft Factory R.E.4

The Royal Aircraft Factory R.E.4 was a design for an aircraft capable of operating from small fields surrounded by high trees. Very little information survives on the design, which was never completed and was probably never even the subject of an official drawing. Mervyn O'Gorman, the superintendent of the Factory described it as his 'out of field machine', while some rough sketches by H.P. Folland show an aircraft with a rotary engine and a two-seat version of the S.E.4 fuselage.
