Morane-Saulnier M.S.478 Vanneau

The Morane-Saulnier M.S.478 Vanneau was the designation given to a version of the Vanneau that was to have been powered by an Italian produced Isotta Fraschini Delta engine. The Delta engine had been developed before the Second World War and was a large air-cooled inline engine, a most unusual combination of features. It had been used in a number of Italian military aircraft, the most important of which was the Caproni Ca.314. The M.S.478 was never actually built.
